1 and 2 correct. 5 half correct. It was a US naval vessel (a destroyer actually), but they weren't trying to send it back in time.

The 'Titanic' was apparently its sister ship, Olympia, in disguise.

3. Near enough, it was Zapruder. I can't help thinking when I see it now how many different angles of filming we'd have of it nowadays.

Using eight eights and addition only, can you make 1000?

EDIT: Actually, there are three ways to do it if you don't just use addition. Extra points for the other two methods.

another way to do it, not using addition: (8888-888)/8=1000

Yes, that's one of the non-addition methods.

I'll reveal the third method later today if no-one guesses it. It's a bit less obvious than the others.
