Wow. I've had a couple of fraudulent transactions that my bank or CC company caught, but nothing of that magnitude. I think the worst was when I filed an expense report from a business trip, got reimbursed, then someone hit my account for almost all of the reimbursement. Fortunately we caught it and got the money back so I could pay off my expense card before it was late.

The "Send as Gift" button that wasn't working, has now disappeared altogether. Still hoping it is temporary, but it's not looking good.

Earlier this year, my bank caught the fact that one of the sites I had used my card at was hacked. They cancelled my bank card and overnighted a new one.

The gift cards are once again available for purchase from the Kobo website. I have no idea if they are there for everyone from everwhere, but they are on the Canadian version of the website now.

Changing your address in a Kobo account changes what site you get--but you would be getting cards in Canadian dollars and spending them in your currency when you change back (assuming they could be used in Norway). It might be worth waiting a bit longer and seeing if the availability changes.

Kobo actually charge me in Us dollars, not Norwegian kroner. So that means I would be buying a giftcard in Canadian $, paying for it with Norwegian kr, and seeing US $ when I buy books. I wouldn't have a clue what I really paid for a book

It may be that US addresses also see the gift card,. in which case the situation would be better. We'll have to wait for someone from the US to weigh in.

Hopefully they'll be available everywhere again, but temporally moving to the US seems like a workable option.

I have checked the French web site. Now gift cards can't be bought in stores in France (only in U.K. and Germany for the U.E.). And if I'm not mistaken, so far it's impossible to buy one online. I haven't checked the gift-this-ebook option, but I think that won't work too.
I hope that will change soon.

not working in the UK - the option has disappeared altogether.

Can anybody help me? How do you buy egift card? I am in US store and all I get is tab with egift cards and text Give a Kobo eGift card with only "redeem" and "buy in store" options. I can't find where do you buy the egift card?
EDIT: Ok, I found it - I was told it's in kobo.com while I was checking kobobooks.com
