Hi Kovidgoyal

It's not a problem now I've got a work around.
Maybe it is an issue with HAL that 0.6.x highlights. The 0.5.x (without pmount) didn't have this issue though.

Keep up the good work. Calibre is an excellent program and is a credit to you

Updating Linux Kernel

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
If you go to this link: [URL="http://packages.ubuntu.com/jaunty/linux-image-2.6.28-14-generic"], and download from the Jaunty package list "linux-image-2.6.28-14-generic (first confirm your install has the "generic" package) then run the installer.
**Note: I had to first install one of the dependancies, "wireless-crda" then the linux-image.
Calibre works fine now and mounts my Sony PRS-505 using Ubuntu Hardy

Hi

I've just swapped my 500 for a 505 and can't get Calibre to detect it, although the OS does (Vista by the way).

I've run a debug and this all seems ok - it's in the list and is able to open the main memory, but all the same, Calibre won't detect it. Any ideas?

Having problems with Windows version of Calibre detecting my PRS-505 ever since version 0.6.21 was installed. I uninstalled my old version of Calibre before installing 0.6.21 just like the website suggested.

Calibre used to work fine for the last 8 months but something has changed in the recent versions. 0.6.22 doesn't resolve the issue either.

If I plug in the book reader first and then start Calibre it reports with a popup "Sony Pocket Edition" detected.

I then get an error if I click the arrow icon shown in my screenshot. I also get the error when I try to shut down Calibre.

Below is the detailed text that Calibre reports:

Quote:
ERROR: ERROR: Unhandled exception: <b>AttributeError</b>:'Main' object has no attribute 'carb_b_view'

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\__init__.py", line 239, in dispatch
File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\main.py", line 770, in device_detected
File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\main.py", line 753, in save_device_view_settings
AttributeError: 'Main' object has no attribute 'carb_b_view'
