Search for Notes

Now that we can have notes attached to a highlight in a book, I want to be able to search for any notes from the library view.

as an example:
I add a highlight in Book 1 with a note 'Four winds'
In Book 2 I add a highlight with a note 'East winds'

What I would like is to be able to search for 'winds' from the library search bar and Calibre to return a result with the two books that contain the search term 'winds' in their notes.

I know that I can search within the notes of each separate book from the Viewer. That's not what I'm looking for.

I don't know if what I'm asking for is currently possible, but it will be a nice addition.

From the manual

Quote:
You can browse all highlights in your entire calibre library by right clicking the View button and choosing Browse annotations.
This shows a search bar which will allow you to find the books that have annotations matching that word.

You can also add Browse Annotations to your toolbar or context menu.

Can annotations be imported?
For example I use moon reader and the bookmarks and notes can be exported in html or txt
How would Calibre receive it?

No you can export/import annotations from the calibre viewer, but not between calibre and other programs.

What is the "Calibre annotation collection" in Annotation Browser > Export all selected for? I've not found a way to re-import it. It looks like a JSON, which is sort of human-readable but not the most friendly.

its a way to export your data in a machine readable format for further processing. There is no re-import possible there. For re-import you can do it only via the viewer.

Thanks

I looked for it but I couldn't find it. I've spent over two hours trying to figure it out by myself.
Now I'm set. Thanks again.
