bookmark page in browser?
I'm sure that I'm being stupid but am attempting to download a copy of the Guardian newspaper. Someone has developed an app for this which when used will download a copy in the mobi format. His instructions are to "Bookmark this page in your browser" so as to reach it quickly. The problem is, that despite repeated attempts I can find no way to do this and can find no information in the Users' guide which would help.
I'd be grateful if anyone can point the way. Many thanks, George. |

This has nothing to do with the Kindle. Moved to "General Discussions".

Are you asking how to bookmark a page in your browser? It depends what browser you're using. In Firefox, for example, go to the "Bookmarks" menu and select "Bookmark this page". In Internet Explorer, the equivalent item is "Add to Favourites".

Since the OP originally posted in the Kindle forum, do you think he's asking how to bookmark using the built in Kindle Browser?

It's possible, but it's really pretty blooming obvious . Click the "Menu" button and choose the "Bookmark this page" item.

Well, I am just not sure what else could be going on here. I'd say its even more obvious for browsers like firefox or IE or chrome. Plus why else would it be in the Kindle section originally?

It may simply be a confusion of terminology. Someone who's only ever used Internet Explorer (and it is still the most popular browser) may not realise that "bookmark" simply means "add to favourites".
Perhaps the original poster can clarify the intent of the question. |

gwhite, since you mentioned that you download a mobi version of the Guardian, I assume you're talking about bookmarking the page on your Kindle. If that's the case, you will need to first be in the Kindle browser (Menu/Experimental/Launch Browser). Next, navigate to the web page you want to bookmark, then press Menu and select "Bookmark This Page."
I hope that answers your question. If not, just let us know and we'll try to help. |

I think the OP means the sendtoreader.com service. If so "bookmark this page in browser" refers to a computer browser and not to the kindle browser. To use site on the kindle sign-in to the website with password then go to the page you want to send. Add to the front of the URL this sendtoreader.com/bm/send.php?&u= Then press go to and the website should send the page to amazon for conversion and downloading via wifi. Hope this helps.

Even though I'm incredibly old I'm reasonably computer literate (enough to avoid Internet Explorer and use Firefox) but am still having to come to terms with the Kindle. Many thanks to all for your generous help. George. |

The web page will show in the Kindle browser once you have selected the bookmark as Harry instructed (while in the browser press Menu, select Bookmarks, page-forward until you find the bookmark, and then click to select).
For the website that Paola mentioned earlier, if the Guardian .mobi link isn't for the correct date, you will need to "reload" the page. When the website first comes up on the Kindle browser, "reload" should already be highlighted, so just press the center button on Kindle's 5-way controller. The updated web page will then display with the correct date, and you can download the .mobi onto your Kindle from there. |

Try one more time. Dose the OP know to click the DL link in the center of the page to save the file to the kindle?
