Can anyone tell me which last version has ODPS catalog in... they removed it in latest versions..

edit: ok i tried latest version in russian site (version 5.7_515) and it has th OPDS catolog function ... in library

Cool! Somebody seems to be listening to the rant about being able to select the preferred reader.

I just noticed in fw5.7.515 in
"SETTINGS/Personalize/Default reader for ePUB" you can choose you preferred ePub reader. Which is very nice because if you for instance select coolreader, it runs a straight forward script

So this in an interface to run an arbitrary script in the settings. The settings menu seems to be controlled by default_reader.json you can add your own entry there:

Hi, iBat i have installed russian fw 5.7.515 but i can't find this "Default reader for ePUB" settings in Personalize menu.. tried factory reset after installing fw but i just don't have that options.. from where do you installed fw?

And how are you looking at internal system files.. when i connect it with usb i have only acces to mnt/ext1/ directory..

I use Pi app to edit config files but cant save in system directory :-(

If I touch "//About Device/Firmware version" I get R626.5.7.515 release date 20150519_1427000. You too? I installed a couple FWs in short succession. But I downloaded it from the link the posts above. Do you think this feature is a relict of an older version? Some leftovers in the filesystem? The timestamps on most of the files in //system/config/settings is from Nov 2013. I do not see /mnt/ext1 except if I use pbterm. This is not the internal filesystem, but is inside the usb mountable filesystem. I am using Linux here so I see slashes instead of backslashes. Are you saying you see no /system/config directory?

Hi Anka,

my son received his Lux3 yesterday. There was no Personalize menu either. We installed Fw5.7 on the device but the "Default reader for ePUB" option did not appear. The settings directory was also missing in /system/config in the filesystem. So I copied the folder with contents from my old Lux2 to the new Lux3. And now it works: the config option is there. I cannot remember where I got that settings dir from but it seems to do the trick. Give me a couple days to verify that this did not break the device.

FW 5.8:

Implemented:
1. Enhanced procedure of Wi-Fi connection. Now there is no need to turn off Wi-Fi to save power, Wi-Fi-module automatically goes into power saving mode when there is no transmission of information via the interface. It is enough to configure Wi-Fi connection to access point once for further automatic network connection establishing.
2. The graphical interface of firmware updating process (instead of text mode, which was used previously).
3. More comfortable books samples reviewing in BookStore application.
4. Further development of network libraries service (OPDS). Cases of not valid XML-files in some network directories were handled (cases when a book did not appear in the catalog, when some books were displayed without covers or when it was impossible to download some books). There was optimized data processing of network directories, thus the work with the network libraries has been speeded up.
5. Increasing of the file system scanner speed (indexing of books in Library application now runs two times faster).
6. Further elaboration of app Library: the books covers rendering speed has been increased; scrolling of the lists in the application has become more comfortable.
7. Modification of ReadRate service (enhanced performance of ReadRate menu).
8. Browser app performance has been increased.

Fixed:
1. In some cases an incorrect display of the number of items in the search results in Library app.
2. In some cases the wrong recognition of paging gesture while reading books in pdf format.
3. Incorrect fields cropping in the DjVu format when cropping separately odd and even pages.
4. Possible reader application “freezing” in the case of dictionary usage in pdf-formatted documents with cropped fields.
5. Possible Device “freezing” after creating of large number of user profiles.
6. Other minor changes.
