It seems not.
I've tried on my PB without any success. Epubinfo is still a must.

Thanks for the info. I'll stick to 4.4 a but longer then.
Nothing wrong with using epubinfo, but there is no way back once you've opened a book in one app - and I hate that!

Angry

I just wanted to downgrade from 5.5_689 to 4.4, but can't.
I put the firmware file on the device, choose to update the firmware from the menu, he "checks for new version", then deletes the firmware file from the device and then states, I need to have internet connection.

I tried in the very same way to update to 5.5_720 which works without a problem.

I want 4.4??!!

  1. Put the required firmware file in the root of your device.
  2. Power off the device.
  3. Hold both up- and down keys and Power on the device.
  4. Release both up- and down keys when upgrade starts.

I think you didn't do it right.

- You have to put the SWUPDATE on the device (you find it in the downloaded archive)
- Power off the device
- And then power on while keeping pressed both arrow buttons

Then it should be fine.

Edit:
Seems like others are faster than me.

You can access clock/calendar by tapping the time from the top-left corner (in the top status bar).
As for readrate... I don't know how were things before, because I don't use it, but it's present in the library app (when long pressing a book).

Thank you brucelee, it's works to access to the calendar, not very easy/fast but it's works

For readrate, i've seen on the new user's guide 5.5 that's there is a new icon when pressing longer on a book but i don't see this new icon...

Hi, on my 626 i found a file: handler.cfg
in the same folder as extentions.cfg
In this file is mapped wich reader opens a specific book.
You can delete single book from this file or the whole file and epubinfo works again an those/all books.

Thanks, reklovd, for the tip. It works indeed. This is an excellent first post!

To avoid connecting my PocketBook to my computer whenever I want to remove handler.cfg I created a little script (see attachment; unpack this and place the remove_handlers.app file in the 'applications' folder on the reader.) All I have to do now is tap this 'app'.
