Reflowable ebook

Hi,
I'd like to create a reflowable epub with Sigil but all I can create is a simple one. Is there a way to do that?
Thanks.

You'd have to try really, really hard NOT to create a reflowable epub with Sigil.

Yes, that is exactly what Sigil was created to do. Here is the Sigil User's Guide that will walk you through all of the functions. It shouldn't take too long to read through that. If you have any specific questions after that, we are happy to help.

Here are some basic steps:

- Add your book pages (title, dedication, epigraphs, chapters, copyright page, acknowledgements, etc.) into Sigil....keep them as separate pages. You can use the "Add Existing Files" function to do that.

- Add your stylesheet. You can use the "Add Existing Files" if you already have one made, or, create one from scratch. Make sure you link the xhtml files to the stylesheet by highlighting the files, right clicking, and selecting "Link Stylesheets..."

- Clean up your coding as needed

- Click Save

It seems complicated. I thought this would be an easy task but it's not. I will use simple ebooks...
Thank you anyway for the explanations.

I'm not sure why you think it needs to be a choice between reflowable epubs or "simple" epubs. Sigil creates epubs that are reflowable.... period. The complexity (or simplicity) of said reflowable epub is entirely up to you.

What is it you mean by "simple ebooks"?

@Binome - if you are an author:
  • use a word processor such as Word or Libre Office (LO) Writer,
  • do all your formatting via their Styling Templates,
  • save as DOCX,
  • there are several tools to convert DOCX to reflowable EPUB

But you'll still want to examine the eBook code and make any edits as needed to make the code as simple as possible.

Actually no. YOU might want to do that (and YOU might wish everyone else did that, too), but it's not required.

I'm thinking (the OP is free to correct me if I'm wrong) that he means non-reflowable PDF.

PDF is still commonly referred to as an ebook format, even though it is not ideal for small, mobile devices.
