Bookworm Gives a Boost to Open-Source ePub E-Book Format
The most promising open-source e-book format received a big vote of confidence earlier this week when O'Reilly, the technology book publishing giant, threw its weight behind the Bookworm project, a web service for reading books online.
The company is now hosting the Bookworm website, and it plans to use it for various experimental e-publishing projects in the coming months. More details: http://blog.wired.com/business/2009/...orm-gives.html |

Brilliant news ! thanks for the info. of course it's not surprising, coming from O'Reilly ; they are a very forward-thinking company and have supported epub from the start.

Yes, I like this publisher too. I participated in online conference that they organized on their website several months ago. They made very good presentation and answered on all questions about ePub format.

Nice to see Feedbooks mentioned once again on Wired. Maybe Bookworm should implement support for our API too, and make it super easy for their users to search & import a book available on Feedbooks ?

Well I don't really care what format comes out on top but if this helps lead to some kind of widly adopted standard I'm all for it.
BTW, doesn't epub allow for drm at the creators option or am I mistaken? |

Well by "creator" I was thinking more along the lines of an Adobe, Amazon, Sony, not you or me ;-) The link made it seem like epub = no drm which I do not believe is true.
