Conversion from epub to mobi or azw3 fails

I'm using 0.9.7. Any idea why conversion is failing with the following at the end of the processing log that pops up?

That implies a problem with the epub. Have you tried 'exploding' the epub (which is just a ZIP file under the covers) to see if it really contains the file 'PEBPS/Text/page-template.xpgt' that Calibre thinks is missing?

No such file. Any way to fix, or work around, that omission?

P.S. To clarify, the problem persists after using Tweak to explode and rebuild the epub file.
