Updating Calibre

Loving Calibre, been using it for a couple of months now. Just want to know when the new updates come out do I have to completely download each time?
I can never seem to find an "Update" button, only the "Download Here".

In the "Preferences" section, you can set Calibre to alert you to new updates. I have this set and whenever there is a new version of Calibre, upon opening the program, I get an alert message that tells me this along with a link I click and go right to the Calibre site to download the new version. This prevents you from having to figure out when a new version comes out.

There are no incremental updates, there's only a full install. However, doing an install over a previous copy of Calibre will keep your libraries and preferences intact, so there's no real downside.

Hmm...speaking of updates...I haven't updated in a while...I'm running 0.7.23...I've read some of the changelogs, but could anyone take pity and summarize what I should know re: basic functions before updating to 0.7.43? Let's see...1 version per week...I'm 20 versions behind! That's 5 months!

If you want to update, all you have to do is download the newest version and run the install. No other basic functions required before updating to 0.7.43. If you are a big user of the Content server you might want to wait until the next release.

You can get a big look at how calibre has changed by going to the change log and clicking on the Major new features tab. Also read this sticky post about GUI plugins, they provide added menu items but require newer versions than your currently running.
