Adding custom metadata fields

Is is possible to add a custom metadata field to Calibre? While the Publisher field is available, it does not appear that the Publisher Location/Place is an available metadata field.

Thanks

Key word:Custom Columns

Preferences: Add your own columns
Note: these will not auto-populate unless someone customizes a metadata plugin for the source metadata

Hmm, this actually sounds like the Entities Manager plugin might be better suited.

Thank you both for your feedback and suggestions. I was able to add the custom column, manually populate it, include it in an export file, import the data in the target application. Ideally, of course, I would like to be able to populate this column with the metadata coming from Amazon, WorldCat, LC, etc. Calibre does not seem to include a tool for mapping additional metadata or changing the source of the target metadata.

You can use Bulk mode metadata edit:search and replace to move fragments to any field from the default location.

If you can get it in a CSV you might be able to use the Import List plugin, or maybe use the Library Codes plugin, see ==>> Index of plugins
