This subject comes up from time to time on other forums, and somebody always asks: Well, supposing you could do this, how would the reader know the image was a hotlink?

It is easy to do
NJ stated the big problen.
The other problem: There are devices that it does not work (probably said "Who would do that when there is no indication that it is a link'?, so they left out the code

The bookmaker could draw a thin, but visible, blue border around it.

And include an explanatory note that when you see a blue/grey/whatever frame around an image, it's a hyperlink?

But my point was that it did not do it (show) Natively.
What if you forgot to code the work around? What link?

Not to mention that most readers are used to tapping on images to activate some form of pan & zoom feature.

And no, there is no wysiwyg way of creating such a link with Sigil. You'd need to do it manually in Code View.

@ Jeremy Taylor --
I tried doing that a few times in the past.
I can say for sure that an image used as a hyperlink will not work in Sony readers PRS-TI or PRS-T2, although those devices are pretty old now.

It does work in Adobe Digital Editions for PC, and apparently in WebKit-based software.

But you would be taking a gamble on how many DEVICES would actually support it.
(unless it is for your personal use, and if you know it will work on your device)

Thanks all. It seems the best way to go is text under the image.

And now you can address the problem of making sure the page-flow keeps the text on the same page as the image :-)
