This subject comes up from time to time on other forums, and somebody always asks: Well, supposing you could do this, how would the reader know the image was a hotlink?

It is easy to do
NJ stated the big problen. The other problem: There are devices that it does not work (probably said "Who would do that when there is no indication that it is a link'?, so they left out the code |

But my point was that it did not do it (show) Natively.
What if you forgot to code the work around? What link? |

Not to mention that most readers are used to tapping on images to activate some form of pan & zoom feature.
And no, there is no wysiwyg way of creating such a link with Sigil. You'd need to do it manually in Code View. Last edited by DiapDealer; 12-14-2018 at 08:10 AM. |

@ Jeremy Taylor --
I tried doing that a few times in the past. I can say for sure that an image used as a hyperlink will not work in Sony readers PRS-TI or PRS-T2, although those devices are pretty old now. It does work in Adobe Digital Editions for PC, and apparently in WebKit-based software. But you would be taking a gamble on how many DEVICES would actually support it. (unless it is for your personal use, and if you know it will work on your device) |

Thanks all
Thanks all. It seems the best way to go is text under the image.
