HELP: Rooted Nook Touch not recognizing SD card anymore after repartition attempt

I rooted my Nook Touch using NookManager successfully, but wanted more usable space on my 32GB SD card afterwards, since the rooting process resulted in two readable partitions with roughly 250 MB (NookBackup) and 80 MB (NookManager), while the rest of the card's unallocated space can't be accessed.

I posted a help thread in the Nook developer's corner here and was told I might have better luck with the xda deveopers forum, so I posted for help there and was told to repartition my card using partition magic, which isn't free. Except, when I loaded the card into my laptop's SD card reader, I got a prompt saying that the card was unformatted and would I like to format it now? I know formatting would wipe all the data (which I couldn't access anyway since the cardreader wouldn't read the card), so I decided to try a data recovery using Easeus partition manager (couldn't do an image backup because of the inability to read the card's contents).

The data seems to have been recovered completely, but I don't know how to return the data to the card in the same state it was before I did the reformat. Also, I tried repartitioning the SD card after recovering the data and reformatting, but Minitool Partition Wizard won't create the partitions that I select, and now when I reinsert the SD card into the Nook it won't recognize the card either.

Hope someone here can help me. If the worst case scenario happens I won't be able to return my Nook to stock state either, because the backup image was made using NookManager, and all the data is probably buried somewhere in the data recovery I made earlier which I don't know how to re-incorporate into the card.

I would put this back in the developers corner. They might have 'more' sympathy and help for you...

If you just want your 32gb card back use the sd card formater from here
https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/ it should fix your card.
If you want the data that was on the 250mb and the 80mb partition get a new card of 1-4 gb will do what ever you did earlier to get those partitions then copy the old data to the new card.

Thanks for the tip on how to reformat, dopedangel. Problem is, my device is already rooted. So I can't root it again using a new card. What I want to do is restore all the old data to the 32GB card (including the backup that was made during the rooting process) and change the size of the partitions so that the partition allocated to the NookManager will be able to make use of the card's 32 GB capacity for my sideloaded books (which I'm not sure is possible, so I'm asking around here).

Use a seperate card for nook manager. You cant use your nook with a nook manager card as the nook will always boot into nook manger. The card is for just rooting and installing stuff after that you are supposed to take it our and use a normal card.
And I am not asking you to root again just make a new nook manager card boot into nookmanager make a back up. Now you have a 2 partition nook manager where you can copy your old data into. And if you are talking about recovering any books or other data you had on your card then try using http://www.piriform.com/recuva.

Well, it worked. Thanks deopedangel! Though I lost all of the bookmarks I made with coolreader.

What should the home screen of the Nook look like now, BTW? A screenshot might help. Because me, I just put in all of the recovered books into the folder names "Books".
