over the last couple of days when I have quoted a post a random post from an entirely different thread will self insert. these aren't even posts I have quoted somewhere else!

what's up with that?

Is it possible that you have clicked the "multi-quote" button earlier and haven't yet replied? From what I see the system remembers all those clicks until you do your next reply.
