NEW Sealed PW3 From Amazon need Help!
As the title says I have a NEW Sealed PW3 From Amazon and need help. Even though this is new and not a referb, I am certain that this version will be higher than the software jailbreak version available. Any experts here who can check my software version without me breaking the seal first? Thanks!

It is impossible without switching on the device.
Most of the new PW3s are shipped now with 5.8.11. This version can be jailbroken with some (rather low) risk.
Do not register the device and use 5.8.9.0.1 initial factory firmware.

"Most" doesn't really help me at this point, last new one I got from amazon after adding the partial update folder, and then registering was too high. So I'm not very hopeful right now.

The easiest way would be to just open the box, beak the seal and check it...

I recently jailbroke a sealed PW3 ... I restarted the device when it got to the WiFi connect screen (by holding down the power button and choosing restart option), and it rebooted to the home screen, skipping registration and WiFi connect allowing me to safely check the firmware version. It was on 5.8.9.0.1 and was plain sailing from there on ...

well, I reduced the amount of luck involved by buying it from ebay, someone was selling one they claimed to have purchased in July 2017 and left unopened.
