The update for my Leaf 2 was available again this morning. It is, however, an incremental update (281.5MB). I don't think it receives any of the features from the 3.5 available to the note taking devices (except maybe the calendar screensaver like the Palma).

The installation of the update v3.5 works on the Poke5 now without any problem.

That downloaded nicely on what is often marginal internet. 40 Mb/s at 4 AM on Sunday.

The 3.5 update went through, but they changed the whole frontlight controls.
It's brightness/color instead of warm/cold but it doesn't even respond to Android stock controls (in stock Settings or elsewhere).
Err... maybe it was like this before? I never touched the Poke5 since it's not rooted.

"adb reboot bootloader" used to just freeze, now it goes to (real) fastboot.

Ok, so I got Magisk on the Poke5.
I guess that I need to do a thread on this?

I finally received the 3.5 update yesterday. Now I am all up-to-date on my TU and TUC. Phew!

Hi, I got an update to 3.5 (2023-11-20_14-35) on my Boox Lumi 2.

Now I see some kind of (unwanted) refresh action every 10-30 seconds:
The app list is reloaded after the screen flickering twice. Settings/firmwareupdate shows "Your Boox is up to date", every 10-15 seconds, without doing or pressing anything.
Quite annoying.

Has anyone experienced this?

Haven't tried adb. How to do that?

What do you mean with "train wreck"?

In the app list all app icons disapper and a "Loading ..." appers. It takes a second until the icons reappear. This cycles every 10-30 seconds (the interval isn't constant).

Using ADB is quite a useful skill. There are a million tutorials. Just Google "minimal adb".

Actually reading a logcat takes some skill. It's like standing on an overpass and watching an eight lane highway. But you should be able to see if the traffic is light or if it's crazy.

An ereader in a idle state should spit out one or two inscrutable things a second. If it's streaming by so fast that you can't read a word there is probably something majorly wrong with the system. Especially if you see big blocks of indented text or worse, blocks of numbers.

Unfortunately the quality of software nowadays is so poor and there is so much of it running that you are bound to see lots of error messages that aren't really your problem at the moment.

Were you running the full update?
Just load this manually:

No, the update was only 281MB and not 1,56GB.

How did you get the link to the full update? In the past I was able to find the update URL by packet inspection, but that would've just given me the same incremental update.
