Onyx Boox Note 2. Would it fit? (Battery Replacement)

I have in mind to replace the battery in my old Onyx Boox Note 2.
It drains about 10% when writing (wifi off, brightness at 85%),
anotherwise working very well.

Would this battery fit in the Boox Note 2?

Asus Google Nexus 7 Series C11-ME370T 0B200-00120100M
3.7 v 4100 mAh 3 wire lipo battery;
Size: 2.6 mm x 80 mm x 159 mm

Maybe it's the same battery as the Onyx Boox Max 2

Thank's a lot in advance

Aw, you made me dust off my Nexus 7 (2013).
A very nicely built device, not cheap at all.
It uses a BQ27541 Battery Management (BMS) that uses I²C communication.
That chip is in the battery pack and uses the kinda blue (SDA) and kinda yellow (SCL) wires for digital communication.
Code:
/dev/i2c-0
  55 bq27541-battery
Nowadays, most devices use a simpler analog thermistor and pack id.
So, it's not a very good match.
Still, I don't know what's in your Note2, but I highly doubt it's compatible.
If that is 3 wire (like most Onyx?) it's plus, minus and thermistor.
Isn't there a direct replacement?

Why would you think this Asus battery fits your reader? Did you just pull this idea out of your butt, or was there some kind of research that made you believe this might physically fit and be electrically compatible?

Thank you very much Renate for your prompt reply

It looks like there is a direct replacement, but I don't trust the quality of these
batteries, I think a new Asus Nexus battery is more reliable.

Anyway from the replacement review I gather that the Onyx Boox Max 2 battery is similar to the Onyx Boox Note 2.

This thread describes in detail how to "transplant" the PCB board from the original Onyx Boox battery to the new Asus Nexus battery.

The whole process would not be done by myself, but by a local repair shop that has the right skills and experience in handling eink readers.

I appreciate a lot your comments and constructive criticism
in order to learn...

I've only tried this with Note 1- bought used smashed Nexus 7 for the battery (it was cheaper this way) and took the battery out. The battery did fit... kind of. The casing would not close completely. I did use it like that for a year or so, it was fine.
That said, I see you're mentioning thread for Max 2, which is 7.5mm thickness.
Note 2 is 7.1mm.
Note 1 6.8- which does not close completely.
Perhaps it might? I would highly suggest, if you already have the device open to try and measure how thick the battery could you fit inside. Perhaps even if it fits it might be a tight fit.
About direct replacement- I did buy Boox battery from aliexpress before, it did expand after a few months. Because of that I understand not trusting Boox'es batteries, seeing all those dead batteries in their previous support forums.
If you have time, there's tablet search in GSM arena, I guess you could search for a thin tablet with simlar battery capacity, see if that battery is for sale, check its sizing and etc.

Batteries have gotten thinner.
Now that the circuits are smaller more of the area is used for batteries.

I wore out the battery on my Poke3.
I put in a battery I had kicking around and reused the BMS PCB.
The back won't close, so I left that out.
The "cover" has the plastic cradle which covers the back anyway.

I'm liking my Poke5 better anyways (since the update and rooting).
I have a cover with 90% of the back removed and the tab glued on.
I really like this.

I'll try to document for the community as well as possible the whole process of replacing the battery of my note 2 as soon as I do it.

Of course, first I have to convince the responsible
of the local repair shop...
