Simple answer, yes but not all work. See this thread http://www.entourageedge.com/forums/...ine-Apps/page2 and look round the forum.

Generally, yes.

For a list of apps confirmed to launch successfully on the latest build of the OS refer to this thread:

From boris' welcome basket (#3):

Note there are a number of great third party marketplaces for Android apps, some of which include their own market app you can download to your eDGe for easier browsing and installation. For example:
- www.slideme.org (app: http://www.slideme.org/sam)
- http://andappstore.com/AndroidApplications/ (app: http://andappstore.com/AndroidApplic...ppStore_Client)

The easiest way to get a large number of apps is to install these alternative marketplace apps. Once you have those two installed, you have access to two large markets and getting apps from them is easy. As ivan said, not all of them will work (in part since many are designed specifically to be used with a phone), but it's the easiest way to start getting apps.

Click the link to part 3 of the welcome basket to find other ways to get apps on your EE or PE.

Thank you very much for your replies, but these apps are so few. Android Market has tons of applications. Why are these applications not compatible with such a wonderful device.

You will find many or most apps are compatible, it's just work to get them there.

How can I know whether an application can work or not?

Nader, I just try them! Of course, I only try free apps. Some work, some don't.

If you want to be scientific, or if there's something you really need/want, try searching this forum. People have made copious lists of apps that work well on the eDGe. You can follow in their footsteps. Many times you will find a link to a download site that works for that app, but if you don't, try googling the name of the app plus "apk" and see if you find a way to download what you want.

Good luck! Have fun!!

(I see I might not have answered your real question, which is how can you tell which Android Market apps will work, but I'll leave my answer just in case it helps!)
