PRS-300 Public library checkout bug?

I didn't sync my PRS-300 for awhile because I was busy and noticed I was still able to read a book I checked out 2 months ago, way beyond the due date. Is this a bug or a one off?

Is the date set correctly on your device? The library book will expire when your checkout time is up. But if the date isn't correct, or if you keep setting the date back, the book will never expire. When you sync the Reader, it will automatically sync the date and time as well.

So, if you want to keep a library book for a longer time, just keep changing the date on the Reader and don't plug it in a computer.

I never realized this. My date is off (2009) and I haven't sync'ed still. I thought the book publishers or TPTB would have taken care of this kind of thing. Excellent, I can finish reading this long overdue book.

If you check, it's surely been returned to the library via Adobe Digital Editions and your computer. So don't worry about it being overdue. I've purposely used this trick a few times to keep library books on the device longer though the original file still expires.
