2 Calibres 1 library?

Well, my husband finally took a look at what I was doing in Calibre and now he wants it, too.

Can two PCs share libraries stored on a NAS?

I assume we will have to use the same versions. I will also be configuring his preferences, etc. to match my own.

The biggest thing is you only want one instance of Calibre open at a time. So, yes you both could access the same library from different computers, but you don't want to be doing it at the same time. I believe true muti-user has been mentioned as a possible some day thing.

@Ma'am-I-Am - Also see I am getting errors with my calibre library on a networked drive/NAS

I suggest doing a search for "NAS" and "network server" in the Devices sub-forum to get an idea of other folks usage of calibre in a networked environment.

You can use 2 different installs of Calibre to access one library, but the drive you are access across the network has to be mapped as a drive letter. Also, as has been said, only one copy can access the library at a time.
