US Government, US Army: American Military History, v.1, 6 June 2008
American Military History, published by the United States Army Center for Military History. Covers from pre-Revolutionary War to 1989. Pub date 1989 but as official government publication in the public domain.
A 2005 version exists, which is mostly the same, but revised in spots. It however is heavily formatted with pull quotes, etc, making it not so useful for our purposes. This work is assumed to be in the Life+70 public domain OR the copyright holder has given specific permission for distribution.
