Trying to format ePub for iBooks

Hello,

I am trying to get my book into the iBooks store. I have been trying to use the ePub that was formatted for me and also have the Word Version.

I have been using Calibre to edit or convert both files. The closest I have gotten so far is with the existing ePub using Calibre to edit it.

I am currently dealing with this:

Error ITMS-900 "No OPF XML" at Book/Book Assets

and

Error ITMS-900 "Unable to parse Nav File: toc.xhtml" at Books/BookAssets

Any Ideas? If you need other info, I can supply it.

You'll need to do the following:

1. Check the epub2 file that you received with the IDPF validator.
2. Fix all errors and warnings (or have them fixed by the ebook creator).
3. Install Sigil and the epub3 plugin.
4. Convert your epub2 book to an epub3 book.

1. Install the epubcheck plugin for the Calibre editor and use that instead. It's much easier. If you prefer Sigil, install the epubcheck plugin for Sigil and use that.
2. Agreed
3. You do not need to convert to ePub 3 if the eBook is already ePub 2.
4. You do not need to convert to ePub 3 is the eBook is already ePub 2.

My wife has read some ePub 2 eBooks with iBooks and she had no difficulty.

Every time I fix one thing, something new pops up.

I ended up rebuilding it in iBooks Author and it finally works to where I can submit it.

Thank you for your replies!
