input code does not seem to work

Up until a few weeks ago the input code iso-8859-1 worked and converted German characters correctly. It no longer seems to do so. Am I doing something wrong? None of my accented characters seem to work. I just converted a document with a e-aigue, and it didn't work. Any suggestions.

Is the document that is failing from the same source as the documents that worked? Does the source still use the same encoding? Try another encoding until you find one that works.

I've tried it with the same document, and it to fails. The html puts the charset as iso-8859-1. What other encoding might work?

Try Windows-1250, if that doesn't work try other codes from this extensive list of character encoding codes (more info).

Good Luck.
