Tey, Josephine: The Expensive Halo, v.1, 28 June 2009.

Josephine Tey (Elizabeth MacKintosh) (1896–1952)
The Expensive Halo: A Fable Without Moral (1931)

This is a social comedy about a pair of brothers and sisters in two dysfunctional families, set in London during the 1920s.
Gareth and Sara are attempting to leave their overbearing father who is a preacher in a sect more restrictive than the Plymouth Brethren. Meanwhile, Ursula Deane and her brother, Lord Chitterne are bored. What will happen when the two pairs of siblings meet?
Josephine Tey is most well-known for her detective mysteries.
