If customer 5.9.0.6 for whatever device model you are asking about was ever on the Amazon server, it is still there and still using its same URL as when released.

The Factory (use only, q. a. firmware) is available without any password protection.
Somebody else is handling that for about the last two years.
I am totally out of the firmware distribution business.

I am also no longer actively engaged in the game of "Whack a Firmware", Lab126's version of "Whack a Mole" that they provide for us.

If you mean that the divice is blacklisted by Amazon, you are on your own, forum policy prevents us from assisting with the use of blacklisted devices.

Amazon probably never made 5.9.0.6 available for download because it was the initial fw when the device was released.

Then it seems that 5.9.0.6 has never been on Amazon server. I'll get 5.9.4 and call it a day.

I am actually very happy to get a blacklisted device. That means now I can also blacklist amazon on my firewall. And no more worries about Bezos snooping on my kindle.

IIRC, 5.10.x was the start of things turning to shit.
So any 5.9.x should be a good choice AND we do have an add-in published here that allows the use of collections prior to registration. (possibly LONG prior).

There is a version of my BBB set of firewall rules for routers, etc. (somebody else here did it)

My KOA2 is running 5.9.2

Whether that is better or worse than 5.9.4 or what features differ, I do not know.

FWIW, I'll probably be leaving my PW2 on the final 5.9.x release (5.9.7) for the rest of the foreseeable future .

Then again, I'm not actually using it for real, so I wouldn't care much either way .

If it by chance *had* JB right *before* the update to 5.12.1, you can try applying hotfix.

KO2 is very hard to disassemble，there is no Screws...
I do n’t have the confidence to take it apart and put it on，
serial port JB is impossible for me

No, I didn’t mean serial at all (if you crack it open, that’s it, you can’t put it back as new).

I mean this scenario:
1) Suppose initially your KOA2 was on 5.9.0.6 out of factory (and it is 5.9.4 for KOA, just KOA, not KO1)
2) Then, the first guy to purchase it managed to do JB
3) Then they either a) just updated to 5.12.x; OR b) they did multiple updates, but after EACH of such updates they properly applied the hotfix to restore JB, but didn’t do/forgot to do for the *last* (most recent) update to 5.12.x

ONLY in these two cases you have chances to restore JB on these devices by applying the hotfix.

Well, you can of course try to apply the hotfix just in case you are not sure about the history of these devices. In case of failure, you lose nothing, hotfix doesn't hurt anyway.

I have a KOA2 from December 2017. Can it still be jailbroken if it's currently on 5.12.4?

The instructions seem to imply that the jailbreaking criteria is based on the first initial fw version out of the box, is the current fw version irrelevant?
