Yes and what the results of running the latest testplugin says might help.

Is this with Windows, macOS, or Linux?
And if Linux: - what distribution? - did you build this yourself? - what python version? |

Embedded python errors typically means missing modules. On Windows/Mac, that means a purposefully altered installation. i.e. deleting or moving files from where they were initially installed.
On Linux, it could mean not having the necessary modules installed in the first place, or uninstalling them (or an upgrade of the system Python from 3.5 to 3.6 or 3.6 to 3.7 where pip-installed modules got abandoned). Or the manually compiled version of Sigil no longer jives with the system-installed Python and needs to be rebuilt. I use both the Windows and Linux versions of Sigil 0.9.18 (both repo supplied and self-built) and have never gotten embedded Python errors editing metadata or merging/splitting files. Something else is in play here. Last edited by DiapDealer; 10-13-2019 at 10:24 AM. |

The error message is "Error: traceback report is missing". The Python must be one bundled with Sigil.

So it's going to be like that, huh?
When can we get the rest of the info we asked about? Last edited by DiapDealer; 10-13-2019 at 05:12 PM. |

I installed it from there: Sigil-0.9.18-Windows-x64-Setup.exe
Now I reinstalled it, but errors still persist. What other info do you need? |

Do you get the error message for all epub files or only very large ones? In rare cases corrupted sigil.ini entries might cause this problem. Try the following: 1. Open Sigil and select Edit > Preferences > Open Preference Location. 2. Close Sigil. 3. Rename sigil.ini to _sigil.ini. 4. Open Sigil. Also, since Sigil accesses the system Temp folder, it couldn't hurt to empty it. |

I do not know what you mean by "from there". Where exactly did you download that installer from? Was it directly from our github release page? If so we can test its integrity via sha256 checksum to see it it exactly matches what was posted.

With removed sigil.ini, errors still occur.
