"Apple's iOS 7 serves up a new "flat" design, iTunes Radio, and a few other bells and whistles, but it does not make your iPhone or iPad waterproof. That might seem obvious to most of those with an iDevice, but a fake notice making the rounds on social media apparently fooled a few people, who ruined their phones and tablets when testing out the new "feature." As Sky New reported, the fake advertisement shows an iPhone and iPad surrounded by a splash of water. "Update to iOS 7 and become waterproof," the tagline reads. "In an emergency, a smart-switch will shut off the phone's power supply and corresponding components to prevent any damage to your iPhone's delicate circuitry," according to the accompanying text. That is most likely pure BS! This sounds like an urban myth in the making. Possibly just a practical joke post or a journalist too stupid to know better than to believe everything they hear or read.
