This reallyl would have been a great selling point, but not so.

"Apple's iOS 7 serves up a new "flat" design, iTunes Radio, and a few other bells and whistles, but it does not make your iPhone or iPad waterproof.

That might seem obvious to most of those with an iDevice, but a fake notice making the rounds on social media apparently fooled a few people, who ruined their phones and tablets when testing out the new "feature."

As Sky New reported, the fake advertisement shows an iPhone and iPad surrounded by a splash of water. "Update to iOS 7 and become waterproof," the tagline reads. "In an emergency, a smart-switch will shut off the phone's power supply and corresponding components to prevent any damage to your iPhone's delicate circuitry," according to the accompanying text.

Sadly, iOS 7 does not ruggedize your device, but not everyone got the memo, ..."

That is most likely pure BS! This sounds like an urban myth in the making. Possibly just a practical joke post or a journalist too stupid to know better than to believe everything they hear or read.
