Exporting catalog to Android app

I hope this is in the right sub-forum - apologies if it isn't.

I'm in the habit of wandering round bookshops collecting ideas for my "To Buy" list. I have recently started using Android apps such as Book Catalogue or MyBookDroid (I've only just started this, so I'm not yet committed to any particular app) to scan the ISBN and download details of the relevant books for later purchase (usually as ebooks).

I would love to be able to import a catalog of my Calibre library into one of these apps so that I have a full list of my library for reference. Obviously, I could dump a simple list onto my phone, but it would be preferable to get the data into the relevant app.

If anyone has tried anything similar I'd appreciate any thoughts, suggestions, etc.

TIA,

Ian

You might have some success with the CSV catalog. If not, try creating an ebook catalog and using an ebook reading program on the Android for accessing the catalog. I'd suggest looking into ePub, if you want to go that route.

The csv file is pretty much what I had in mind for the "dump it onto my phone" approach.

A more integrated approach would be preferable. I might adopt it as a project for myself, but I thought it made sense to check whether anyone's already doing something along those lines.

Run the calibre content server and connect to it with your phone when you want to browse your calibre collection.

I can see potential in that approach - thanks Kovid.
