It might be a specific book or two also.

Dump the system messages (they are scrubbed of personal information).
In the main page search bar, enter:
;dm
The semi-colon is part of the command.

That will create four log files on your Kindle.
Pull to your PC, zip them up, post them as an attachment to one of your posts.

Somebody will read them and see if it is something specific to your device.
(The KOA2 is a faster, dual core processor - "slow" it is not.)

I doubt it. Version 5.8.11 came out less than a month ago. There is only one new feature in 5.9.2 for older devices: the ability to quickly delete groups of books. It is probably not worth rolling out a new release just to add that.

The real question is why was 5.9.2 released for the 7th gen PaperWhite? My best guess is that 5.8.11 had a serious bug that applied only to that model.

Would the 7th Gen Paperwhite firmware also apply to the Manga edition Kindle? Other than a serious bug, the only other explanation I can think of would be to make room on a Manga edition to download Manga files since they can be large like audiobooks.

Or they just want to get some feedback before rolling it out to other devices. At any rate, no urgency as there might be with a more front and center feature like font option improvements.

Maybe it has something to do with VoiceView (and the fact the dev here on MobileRead experiment with VoiceView bin packages in regards to finding jailbreak and/or downgrade methods)? Voyage and older Oasis don't support VoiceView? Ony Kindle Basic, PW and new Oasis?

The Voyage certainly supports VoiceView (via an audio adapter).
