Reading App
What is your favorite reading app? I prefer Moon Pro Reader over using the Kindle reading app. At one time I had Mantano but I can't find it at Google Play, iTunes or Amazon.
So do you use the installed app to read your books or something different? |

I've just installed Freda epub ebook reader on my Win 10 laptop. I love the TTS ability, as well as the linkage with my Calibre library.

I like Moon+ for epubs. And since there is no choice we all have to use Amazon software to read their books.

Bookari or Google Play Books for epubs, Amazon app for Amazon books (unless I convert them to epub and then it's Bookari).

Bookari Premium. Several years ago I was using Aldiko for ePubs but it started to get glitchy so I abandoned it for Mantano, which later became Bookari.

Google Play Books, Bookari, Moon+ Reader, Pocketbook Reader, Kindle.
I mainly use Google Play Books. I prefer reading on my Kobo Glo HD but on my phone Google Play Books works well for me. I also use Kindle on my Fire phone. The Kindle Android app takes five minutes to load one book due to having a large library so that's why I don't use it anymore on my tablet. Sent from my XT1528 |

I use Moon+ on my phone. I also have a Fire Phone which I don't use much but I do like it's Kindle app. If the Kindle app on my Android phone worked that way I'd probably use it. It's strange they made such a good Kindle app for the Fire Phone and never made it available to other platforms.

On android it's anything with control over the settings (unlike Kindle app ) so the book is easy to see and read.

Mostly I use the Kindle apps on android and fire tablet. It's not perfect, but the vast majority of my books are in the amazon cloud, so it's just the easiest to use. I keep my books backed up to calibre, but I don't want to make managing books into a hobby. Scrolling and sorting the whole list is quick on Android, I don't bother with collections. Kindle apps also support Overdrive library checkouts.
I do use Moon+ for non-Amazon sourced books, but I may start emailng those into the Amazon cloud instead. |
