Clifton, Mark: Sense From thought Divide. v2. 26 Jan 09

Version 2. Forgot to convert to em dashes.

A novelette by Mark Clifton, winner of the Hugo Award for Best Novel, in 1955 with They'd Rather Be Right.

I have no synopsis of this novelette. You can remedy that with your written comments.

If you like Mark Clifton, you may wish to look at the novel, Eight Keys To Eden, which I also assembled.

Like all the books I assemble on MobileRead, this too was assembled to reflect human intervention and artistic judgment.

I hope you enjoy it.

When I did this one earlier, these were my remarks:

Mark Clifton won the Hugo Award in 1955 for his novel They Would Rather Be Right. This is a novella by Clifton from the March 1955 Astounding Science Fiction magazine.

Clifton worked as a personnel manager, and many of his shorts were the adventures of the fictional personnel manager Ralph Kennedy, who discovered and encouraged employees who had psi abilities. This is one of those stories and is centered around the thought:

Quote:
What is a "phony"? Someone who believes he can do X, when
he can't, however sincerely he believes it? Or someone who can
do X, believes he can't, and believes he is pretending he can?

First, for all readers of MobileRead, I would like to apologize to Donnageddon. His version, to my way of thinking, is perfectly fine and acceptable. I got carried away, after doing a Mark Clifton novel, Eight Keys To Eden, and didn't bother to check for his version.

Donnageddon, I offer my apologies to you for putting up my version, which really isn't needed due to your version. I would be happy to remove my version, if you wish. Just say the word and it will be done.

Where I come - the South - we were raised to have manners; hence, my apology.

Sincerely,
Don

Oh no! Dr. Drib, no need to apologize! We both have slightly different approaches to formatting (I prefer more space on the borders, and I hadn't mastered the em dash issue) so having each version will allow readers to choose a format they prefer.

Keep it up I say! Viva La Choice!

Oh, and cherchez les femmes!... But that's an entirely different discussion.
