DPT-RP1 new firmware coming?

With a release of new Boox Max2 I'm deciding between this or Sony's Digital Paper.

Anybody heard about a new firmware coming for DPT-RP1 which would fix crippled Bluetooth to enable wireless page turners/keyboard connections?

Pretty sure I remember someone posting that they had asked Sony and the response was that adding that ability was not on their (Sony's) radar at all.

Not sure if BT pedal/KB support is coming, but update firmware is definitely in the works: http://community.sony.com/t5/Reader-.../636128/page/2

Sony's digital paper business development guy said in a June infomercial that he would like to see Bluetooth page turners for musicians eventually (18:40 of http://techblogwriter.co.uk/sony-digital-paper/). Consider whether this would ever come to pass given that the DPT-S1 ever had only one firmware update and that, six months on, there is not even an update for basic, DPT-RP1 page navigation. Sony does not seem to have spent a lot on RP1 marketing and has shown a lack of concern on RP1 production. Sony has also invested in a third party, e-ink notebook developer, Linfiny (http://blog.the-ebook-reader.com/201...ink-notebooks/).

BTW, Onyx, based upon Android, has far more features, but their implementation is clumsy. If you go that route, expect freezes and glitches.

I hear you. I would also prefer Android version of Sony's Digital Paper but it ain't easy to unlock it. Anybody in this forum who did unlock Sony's DPT-RP1?
