Any update on when a new firmware will be released to fix the crashing issue?

I flashed my device with the latest firmware and when it tried to reboot, it got stuck when the progress bar hit 100%, and nothing's happening.

I don't know what's wrong with this company that I hear so many bad stories about problems like the ones I encountered. This has got to be the worst electronic device I've ever owned.

"This has got to be the worst electronic device I've ever owned."

I think the problem is that they tried to develop a whole software solution from zero with open source components (linux kernel, qt windowing, stardict, etc). It's a very big challenge to do this really good. It needs a lot of resources, good product designers, lab researches of usability, good software engineers and thorough testing. It can't be accomplished by a few enthusiastic software developers. I think the situation is something similar with this company.

I found this information helpful when trying to get a refund:

Article 2

Conformity with the contract

1. The seller must deliver goods to the consumer which are in conformity with the contract of sale.

2. Consumer goods are presumed to be in conformity with the contract if they:

(a) comply with the description given by the seller and possess the qualities of the goods which the seller has held out to the consumer as a sample or model;

(b) are fit for any particular purpose for which the consumer requires them and which he made known to the seller at the time of conclusion of the contract and which the seller has accepted;

(c) are fit for the purposes for which goods of the same type are normally used;

(d) show the quality and performance which are normal in goods of the same type and which the consumer can reasonably expect, given the nature of the goods and taking into account any public statements on the specific characteristics of the goods made about them by the seller, the producer or his representative, particularly in advertising or on labelling.

3. There shall be deemed not to be a lack of conformity for the purposes of this Article if, at the time the contract was concluded, the consumer was aware, or could not reasonably be unaware of, the lack of conformity, or if the lack of conformity has its origin in materials supplied by the consumer."

"If the goods are not delivered in conformity with the sales contract, consumers can ask for the goods to be repaired, replaced, reduced in price or for the contract to be rescinded."

The story continues, they are now refusing to refund me as they tested the device and stated that it works fine, which it doesn't. There are other users complaining of the freezing issue and I have even provided video evidence.
