Case for PRS-505 - where to buy (UK)

Hi everyone.
I have just bought myself a used prs-505 and am loving it - all except for the case which the is stock tan one. Is there anywhere that still sells cases for the prs-505? I am looking for a plain black one - that opens like a book - i.e pretty much what I have, but in black.

Do the prs-600 cases fit? I have tried Ebay but can only find slip and flip cases etc.but will keep hunting. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Mikey

Hi mikeymike. I have a 505 and, like you, didn't really like the standard case provided.

I bought one of these (linky) which I now use all the time and I'm really pleased with it.

I suppose the one thing against it for your stated requirements is that it doesn't open like a book, but Amazon (UK) do seem to sell a black version of the standard one (link here) if that could be better for you.

Hope this helps.

I just got one from ebay UK (you don't say where you are) - £10.49 inc postage - Standard Black Sony used but you can't tell. This is the one I am using all the time.

I'd had already got a Sony lighted cover again from ebay (Argos Clearance for £22 inc postage), but wanted something smaller as the light can be a nuisance when you are not using it. You can remove the light section but are then left with a bigger case than required. I still find it preferable to use a 'normal' light where possible.

I since got 10 Sony Silicone cases (£11 for them all including postage) again on ebay! I actually prefer holding the PRS-505 in this to the others, but it doesn't give the protection to the screen when you aren't using it. I cut the corners out of one of these to fit it as well as the leather case, but it distorts the hinge mounts in the case as there isn't enough clearance for the thickness of the silicone.

I didn't actually get the tan case with my PRS-505 as it is made up of two PRS-505's from guess where and a new screen from China!

Thanks very much for quick replies. Took your advice, Silverghost, and bought the Sony one on Ebay. Very prompt delivery - I have it already. It's a bit thicker than the standard tan case and not quite as magnetic - but apart from that it's perfect. Thanks again
Mikey.

Smile Glad I could help

Glad I could help.

Mine doesn't seem magnetic at all. The lighted cover does though. You can feel (and see with the right light) the little squares in the corners where the steel plates are inside the covers on that. There doesn't seem to be anything at all like that on the leather cover though.
