FICTIONWISE, still usable?

I am confused, although I admit I have not followed closely, but did I hear that Amazon has blocked ability to buy from other sources? Does this mean one cannot use FictionWise or other such sites??

Pardon my ignorance on the matter!

From what I picked :
If you buy DRM-free mobipocket books, nothing has changed.

All mentions of a one of the tools that was used to be able to read Mobipocket DRM-infected ebooks from other sources than Amazon without removing the DRM have been removed from MobileRead.
This doesn't mean that the tool isn't still out there, though.

I was wondering about this too, thanks. It's just a matter of them having to cover themselves from liability, etc.

Who? What "liability"?

It's Amazon's way of discouraging competition. There is no potential "liability."
