Thanks for the updates Charlie and AnemicOak! Exciting!! It’s a long wait until December though.

Truthfully, I’m caught between longing for several more books to follow each character’s lifepath; and just feeling grateful the authors are still writing. Considering their ages, health, life, etc., every new book is a gift.

Once this grand story arc is concluded, I’d be very happy with stand-alones, and tales they may find easier to offer. I find as much pleasure in the characters, and day to day workings of trade, flying the ships, etc, as I do complex plots. It’s just such a rich, believable world. At least to me. (But it is a real place, right? )

I would agree, Victoria. It's much more about the characters than the plot against the evil Department of the Interior. Which is why the series / Universe has had such legs.

An eARC is an Advance Reader Copy. This is an unproofed manuscript and is guaranteed to be full of typos and error. It is pretty much raw from the author's word processor. But you get the entire eARC well in advance of even the Monthly Baen Bundle release.

Do eARCs include the final proofed version?

No. If you would like to read and enjoy the final proofed version, you must purchase that separately.

Why is an eARC more expensive than the regular book?

A new chapbook is up on Amazon. The pBook version is released today, the eBook version on the 15th (14th in the UK). The book is Fortune's Favors, and contains an all new Liaden Universe story. Book is 71 pages long. And I hate having to wait for the eBook version!

Just finished reading Fortune's Favors which arrived on my Oasis last night just as I was supposed to be going to sleep. Ah, well, I'll take a nap today.

A wonderful short story with some characters we've seen before. Highly recommended.

ETA: the story in which some of the characters of Fortune's Favors previously appeared was Degrees of Separation.

Note that there's a minor issue with the Kindle version, as described by Ms. Lee elsewhere:

Great to hear - thank you! I’ve been tied up finishing up Tey’s in “The Singing Sands” - ( it’s excellent) and forgot this was ready. Goodie - something for the weekend. Is it kosher to ask if you enjoyed the e-arc you were planning to buy?
