Seems important enough to be separate news?

Also of interest is the fact that, due to the UK launch of the Fire, Amazon have announced that they're opening 3 new UK distribution centres, employing 2000 permanent and 3000 temporary staff.

Well amazon better pull there finger out of there Ass because the UK amazon App store is very very poor for selection rite now,it's a mere shadow of google play and will be for a long time to come.
I have downloaded over 60+ Apps off the google play store and most of them are not on amazon uk. |

Side loading Apps is more time consuming than download them off a App store direct and a hell of a lot more convenient,I only side load Apps i download off internet web pages. And even then i download them strait to my tablet and open them with astro file manger.
The average person cant be bothered or wont have the brains to do such a task every time they want a App. There are almost no reviews for Apps and it will take months ,if not 1 + year to have a good quantity of reviews for them so you can make a good choose. Nor does the average person want a bunch of apps, they just want to do their email and social media and watch movies. If even that. Many will just use it to read books and watch movies -- not need to download anything.
The Amazon store has all the apps the average person wants or needs. |

Here we go again with the whining about the Kindle Fire vs a generic tablet. The KF is NOT a generic tablet and is not intended to be one.

I cant access the US amazon App store on my tablet even with my hotspot shield App that cloaks my UK IP address and gives me a USA IP address so i can access USA websites and US NETFLIX with my UK Netflix account. Last edited by darksaber35; 09-08-2012 at 05:49 PM. |

Nor do you apparently about Kindle Fires and their purpose.
The average person needs to download nothing to have a fully functional device, MATE. |

I find it funny that you defend a company who provides so much less on the premise that people don't need Apps. Last edited by darksaber35; 09-08-2012 at 05:23 PM. |

To each his own. I find it funny you expect a media delivery device to be a generic tablet. Wrong expectation in my book.
