Don't use Calibre's conversion tools to do this. It sucks at it. Install the KindleUnpack plug-in (Preferences -> Plugins-> Get New Plugins). Then click on the book then use the KindleUnpack plug-in to do KF8 to ePub. This works perfectly. Also make sure you're copying the books on as a kepub.

It depends on the size of the images. When you download KF8, you don't always get the full size images.

Also, it depends on Page setup under Common option in Preferences. I have mine set as Input profile: Default profile and Output profile: Tablet.That way Calibre will not change the images and leave them as they are in the source format.

In this case, it's either the wrong settings so the images are being reduced or the images are just too small. if the conversion is to ePub, it should be failry easy in the editor to search/replace to make the images display full screen. The CSS for that is easy to create.

Why bother creating the CSS for it when KindleUnpack will get a perfectly working ePub that works exactly how'd you expect? The KindleUnpack method also doesn't touch the images and requires no fiddling. I've done this on hundreds of manga volumes and found it to be the best method with the least amount of fiddling. It gets good results on text based books too.

Three CSS classes and one or two regex or search/replace and done.

If the images are not high enough resolution to fill the screen then you do need to force it.

No, you don't need to force it. If the ePub is properly created it fills the screen whether the image is 100x100 pixels or 10000x10000. Now the former might not look great but it fills the screen.

The KindleUnpack method doesn't resize the images at all they are exactly the same size as what's in the original Kindle file. It also requires NO regex and CSS tweaks. It's essentially indistinguishable from a purchased manga epub from somewhere like Kobo.

Given this is a Mobi, KindleUnpack will not shift to ePub.

No, I guarantee it's not actually mobi. Mobi can't do manga. It can't because it lacks the features. People call everything Kindle, Mobi all the time when it's not. Nobody sells mobi manga especially whoever has the rights to One Piece. This is the English edition but note that it doesn't work on Kindle Keyboards? That's cuz it doesn't support MOBI!

https://www.amazon.com/One-Piece-Vol...7ES/ref=sr_1_2

KindleUnpack WILL work here.

So you did KF8 to ePub? And you're copying it on as a Kepub? You may also have to customize KindleUnpack to auto detect the epub version or use 3.0.

If the original is a mobi file, KindleUnpack can unpack it but does not offer a epub output option. OTOH, most manga is KF8 which can be converted to epub by KindleUnpack but all too often the images in the KF8 are on the small side. If you don't mind the loss of resolution, you can edit the epub CSS to force the images to display full screen. As Jon said, this does require some relatively minor editing to the epub.

I looked at a sample from the file. KindleUnpack to epub gave me what looks like a cousin to an epub3 fixed layout file. Sadly none of the files seemed to be listed in the manifest. I ran ModifyEpub to manifest those files so I could work on the file. What I did notice was that the opf file says the epub is fixed layout, pre-paginated and with a fixed viewport of 1550x2250 along with each page giving a fixed width of 1500x2250.

Yes, just follow this steps now. All the files are .mobi, then plugin create the spub, but when i send to kobo all the images (minus the cover) keeps like the picture

Here is a sample CSS and HTML that will work to make the images full screen and keep the aspect ratio. It's very simple code.

Code:
body {
  widows: 1;
  orphans: 1;
  margin-top: 0;
  margin-right: 0;
  margin-bottom: 0;
  margin-left: 0;
  text-align: justify;
}
img {
  max-height: 100%;
  max-width: 100%;
}
.image {
  text-align: center;
  text-indent: 0;
  height: 100%;
}
Code:
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><head>
<title>bk_1_title_page</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="../Styles/style0001.css"/>
</head>
<body>
<div class="image">
<img alt="" class="image" src="../Images/image001.jpeg"/>
</div>
</body>
</html>

Did you make sure to delete the bad ePub first? And are you copying on as a kepub? Do page turns work the way you'd expect a manga to flip? (Right to left)

You can try adjusting the CSS as they say above or you could also use KCC to make another epub from the images in the book (you can just rename the epub file as .zip and extract it).

It shouldn't be necessary to add CSS even if the KF8 image files are smaller than screen size unless it's a poorly made book.

removing all jpgs from the .mobi file and creating a new .epub file with KCC make all images look almost at the propper size (minus cut at bottom) but between all pages come a blank page and the file get double the original size -.-"

I really dont know what to do with this code and im almost giving up of reading mangás on my kobo
