A Tribute to Robert Jordan on his Birthday
This was on the Tor Books site. Kinda interesting. I wish he'd been around to finish his story himself.

It's not terribly informative:

Ditto Harry. All I know is that Sanderson picked up the flag, I don't know the story of how all of that came to happen.
Jordon sounds like quite the character, and someone who would have been fun to meet. I'm glad Tor took time to post a tribute. |

Oops. Okay, my respect for Tor just dropped a notch, but my admiration for Jordan remains.

Adam Whitehead covers Jordan and the Wheel of Time pretty well in parts 17 and 18 of his excellent history of fantasy: http://thewertzone.blogspot.co.uk/20...y-part-17.html

Jordan was a truly great author.
I still remember being in a newspaper stand/book store, one of those narrow convoluted type hole in the wall places and my friend at the counter said that the pile of "thick" paperbacks on the counter were free. It was part of the first Wheel of Time book. I was completely hooked from then on and worried when Sanderson got the nod to finish the series from Jordan's wife who lived in Charleston. I knew Sanderson's work and didn't care for it particularly, but he did a fair job on the last of the series. |

Will be missed. Awesome author. I really loved the Wheel of Time. I think I should reread the series.
