iLiad Some stupid questions. Why porting recent poppler is hard?

Dear All

I do not know linux system well, so it might be very stupid question.

I think iliad need at least three new functions in ipdf.
A. keyword search.
B. Show TOC from bookmarks in pdf.
C. Show a logical page number.

When I search google a little bit, it is a little easy to add these functions if we use a recent version of poppler.

So I just to want to know the reason why people feel some difficulty in porting a recent poppler to iliad.

And what is the exact version of poppler in iliad?

libpoppler is a pdf rendering library, to get the above mentioned features you have to add them in the source code of iLiad's pdf app ipdf or port a pdf viewer with these features.

You are right. But new poppler library support such functions well. So if we can update poppler library, it is very easy to add codes to ipdf.

IMHO, it is not an easy task. At least, it's much harder than porting newer poppler libs for iLiad. In fact, I did build newer poppler lib for iLiad several moths ago.
