It has been many years, but now the first three books in Kathryn Miller Haines' fun Rosie Winter series are on sale at Kindle US for $1.99 each. (I wish the author had written more than four...) And the second book is also on sale at Kobo US, although the other two sadly aren't - at least as of now.

The $1.99 titles are: The War Against Miss Winter, The Winter of Her Discontent, and Winter in June.

Books in this series go on sale a lot, but usually for $1.99, and not for less than $1.00. But now Requiem for a Gypsy is on sale at Kindle US for $0.75, although not at Kobo US. The links below are still good.

Titles in the Robert Amiss/Jack Troutback series by Ruth Dudley Edwards don't go on sale very often, and now there are three price drops at the same time, all to $1.99 in the US. Oh, and they are discountable at Kobo US.

I've quite liked this series, in spite of not really agreeing with Edwards' politics, except for the last couple of titles, in which the politics took more of a prominent role. But the first many titles were, in my opinion, a quite nice mix of dry British humor, some suitably puzzling mystery plots, and sharp enjoyable writing. And of course, your politics may be different than mine, so YMMV...

I read his book A Quiet Place a while back and enjoyed it.
