Windows uninstall bug?

It appears that the Windows installer is failing to remove file associations from the registry. I discovered this when trying to use the editor as a stand-alone program, having (some years ago) uninstalled Calibre64 and replaced it with Calibre32 (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=289481) -- there were some 74 file associations under HKCU\Software\Classes (calibre64.AssocFile.*, calibre64Editor.AssocFile.* and calibre64Viewer.AssocFile.*) which had not been removed, and which prevented me opening the editor from the "open with" menu.

Those cannot be removed by the uninstaller. I have explained why the last time someone brought this up. You want to remove them, use the calibre-debug --default-programs unregister

And they are not file associations. calirbe does not associtate itself with any file types at all. They are notifications to windows of the filetypes calibre is capable of handling.

Sorry, I don't get it. If they can be removed by "calibre-debug --default-programs unregister", why can't the uninstaller do the same?

I am not going to explain it again. Google is your friend.
