Connect the Kindle via USB. The Kindle should show up on your pc as a drive. Drag and drop the ebooks (.mobi format) into the "documents" folder. Safely eject. Done.

Susan's directions are absolutely correct. And if you want to take the whole thing to the next level, may I suggest taking a look at Calibre. Many of us here use it to manage our libraries and couldn't live withouit it.

Calibre is a godsend for managing your non-Amazon content. It comes with high recommendations.
But, for other .mobi files, you're a-ok with just plugging into the PC and doing a little drag-n-drop. |

3 ways,
1) Via USB cable 2) Email (your Kindle email address) 3) Download directly from some websites using the browser Certain sites/services can also email you books/magazines directly themselves. Calibre can be helpful. |

So anything added to Gutenberg since 2009 isn't listed. Happily Gutenberg.org has been enhanced, especially for mobile devices. |

PG now has direct download links for both Mobi and ePub versions of every book. The Mobi download link works just fine in the Kindle's web browser.
