Turn off column find
Is there any way to turn off the feature that searches the current column for a value starting with the character just pressed. Example: I press 'X' on an Author cell (instead of a 'C' to convert) and I land on Xavier Herbert's Poor Fellow My Country.
Added: I have never made any deliberate use of the feature, so it's not something I'd want to turn on and off at the drop of hat. BR Last edited by BetterRed; 05-06-2023 at 04:00 AM. Reason: see added |

Assign every key as a shortcut? But that would probably be more annoying.

I added a checkbox in Preferences / Searching to turn it on & off. It defaults to on to maintain compatibility. The change is in calibre source.

Thanks again. I'm in the midst of renovating my 'periodicals' libraries, in doing that I've been tripped up more than once by this unwanted find feature.
The main reason I'm doing the renovation is because your locked Book details and DaltonST's Notes View are the tools I needed. Because they're non-modal I can flit between them and the main calibre window (book list, tag browser, and embedded book details). BR Last edited by BetterRed; 05-26-2023 at 01:37 AM. |
