dasmoover, You can't install jailbreak on 3.2.1, but you can install it on 3.2 and upgrade Kindle to 3.2.1 (Of course if your Kindle have 3.2)

I have installed the jailbreak on a 3.2.1 kindle, only problem you have to have Duokan already installed for this to work (before you upgrade to 3.2.1).
just put the zipped folder in the kindle memory and boot into duokan. You'll be able to jailbreak afterwards.
The folder in which install.sh has to be called DK_DownLoad, no subfolders!!

My replacement Kindle was shipped as KSO on 3.2.1, after a call to Amazon they were able to disable KSO features remotely. There is a framework call that can do this, here is an excerpt from dump.

giorgio130, Duokan not needed if you have 3.2, just install Jailbreak and upgrade device to 3.2.1 (wait to autoupgrade)

when I was on 3.2 I just installed Duokan and then I got upgraded to 3.2.1 without having the time to jailbreak. This is a solution if someone else is in my same situation.

When you got your Kindle, you got a discount for alowing ads -- Amazon figures that into their financials.

And if Amazon is honoring warrenties on Kindles w/ jail breaks now, I doubt they will continue to do so if they find people are jail breaking to get around a contract that affects their bottom line.

If you don't like ads, pay $25 more to get a Kindle w/o ads.

For the same reason you shouldn't be using ad-block plus and subscribe to the premium version of every site you visit. I just don't see why if I've already seen an ad and I know I'm not interested I should keep seeing it again and again.

@greyTraveler, I'm not interesting in removing ads! I'm thinking about users of my hacks (Interface & keyboard localizations) I prefer to leave ads working.

Hmm well for reasons i wrote earlier , i'd very much like to remove the ads :P But i don't think you're going to do that !

Anyways as long as i can customize wallpapers / install Duokan , i'm happy

I just got a brand new Kindle 3 Wifi. (Not the special offers one)
It came with 3.2 preinstalled. Can I JB it with the 3.1 JB?
This is my first Kindle, so I'm new to JB on it. I have, however rooted Android tablets and JB'd iPhones, so I'm not a total n00b

I understand your point, though I don't think that the comparison to browsing (where I have not made a contract w/ the content provider) and the Kindle is completely correct. None the less I'm sure many people agree with you.

My concern is that whether supressing the ads is reasonable or not, if jailbreaks are used to do that then
1) Amazon will become more agressive about breaking the jailbreaks and screen saver hacks, and
2) Amazon will begin treating jailbroken devices as out of warranty.

This will affect everyone.

Which brings me to recommending that people w/ jailbreaks strongly consider the update provider hack (I think that's what it's called ...)

I still can not uninstall hacks and getting U007 error code.
Even after I reset the device !
Is there any solution ?
