kindle 2 secondhand

hi i have been offered a kindle 2 from a guy at work. he said he has never used it. it does look brand new with box etc. he wants £80 for it. is this a good price as i want to get my wife it for her birthday in 2 weeks time.

That is a lot of money to pay for it. I would pay no more than the equivalent of $100US.

Personally, I'd pass and go for a new Kindle 3 Wi-Fi for £109 at amazon.co.uk instead. On the other hand, with "orders placed today are expected to dispatch in 2 to 3 weeks", I doubt you can get it in time. If you want some perspective, amazon.com sells refurbished 2nd Generation Kindles for $159.99 (roughly £100).

According the chart I used, that converts to $157 US.

Even tho it won't be there in time, I would strongly suggest getting her the K3 instead. Its only $139 US and has a one year warranty with 30 return policy.

Its an awesome reader.
