One of Louis Joseph Vance's first big hits, it was made into a movie in 1913, and again in 1923. (Both silent movies are now lost).

A romantic thriller, involving murder, missing people, obsession and the theatre.

The cover is from the 1923 movie tie-in edition dust jacket, which I had to retouch extensively, showing actress Leah Baird as the heroine.
