Ereader 1.1 is out. And working, and how to set up server on Vista

Hi all

Iphone version of Ereader is out. Works well for pdb books.

For those with librarys on thier own PCs (Windows) and want to access the ebooks with ereader, I recomend this little file server program to run on your local wireless network. HFS HTTP File server 2.2.

The above link is a beginners guide to getting it set up and running. Took me all of about 3 minutes to get going and get my first book (Baen pdb) on the iPod Touch and start reading with EReader 1.1.

You can of course upload to your Ereader Account but you only have 25mb.
So we now have the best of both worlds.

Good Luck

Tony

It works

That works in my IPhone,

I successfully converted a 5MB pdf file into pdb file with Stanza,
and put the pdb into a local HFS web server,
then finally got the book displayed correctly in my IPhone.

The converting takes time and occasionally breaks, yet not a convenient resolution.

Why don't you use Stanza for the iPhone if its already handling the conversion ? You can directly share your files between the desktop and iPhone version of Stanza, this should be easier than setting up a local HFS web server.

Well, a Question mark takes just that little more power and if we all stopped using gammar, well we could save the world.

Another option that works quite well is Dropio. Just surf over to:

http://drop.io

Set up an account and you've got 100MB for free. It's a piece of cake to upload your books from the desktop and a snap to download them to your iPhone or iPod Touch...
