Change font contrast?

Hello
I have an epub where the text is grey instead of black for some reason. Is there any way to change it to be black instead, using Calibre or any other tool?

I prefer reading in pdf format. Perhaps its possible through some pdf editor?

Thanks!

PDF is a miserable format to convert.
If the original was NOT PDF, there are conversion options to remove or override color (shades are colors), delete custom fonts (which may be too light)
If your origional is PDF, it may be better to use a PDF editor to do these tasks as conversions tend to modify things
